- Exchange Will Include Hospitals, Sub-Acute Care Facilities, Ambulatory Care Facilities and Home Healthcare –

CHESAPEAKE, VA / NASHVILLE, TN – May 15, 2012 –ICA (www.icainformatics.com), a leading provider of interoperability technology that enables health information exchange (HIE), announced today it has contracted with Chesapeake Regional Medical Center (www.chesapeakeregional.com) in Chesapeake, VA to develop interoperability and data exchange for this regional integrated delivery network (IDN) located in southeastern Virginia. Chesapeake Regional Medical Center covers the Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Newport News areas of coastal Virginia, as well as parts of northeastern North Carolina, a metropolitan region with a population of approximately 650,000. Chesapeake Regional Medical Center had more than 133,400 patient visits in 2011.

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center will initially install Clinician CE: Orders and Results, ICA partner Emdeon’s laboratory and radiology solution platform. Clinician CE: Orders and Results provides the connectivity across the multiple facilities and care settings within the medical center network to facilitate the transmission of laboratory and radiology data needed for successful multi-setting data exchange.

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center has more than 700 credentialed physicians who practice at the organization’s anchor facility, Chesapeake General Hospital, as well as an ambulatory surgery center, two sleep labs, an urgent care facility, a physician practice group and one home health care facility. Currently installed information systems to which ICA is connecting include McKesson Horizon for lab, Philips Stentor for radiology and Siemens Envision for ADT.

“We are excited to embark upon the development of the initial infrastructure for data exchange with ICA,” said Ken Deans, chief information officer of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. “This implementation represents an important first step in establishing connectivity throughout all facilities in this region. Every physician practice will be able to integrate and exchange order/results capability within the physician’s existing electronic medical record (EMR), as well as physicians without existing EMRs. Laboratory and radiology data are critical, abundant and require a robust infrastructure to successfully execute transmission. We are confident that ICA’s solution brings us that power.”

“Signing Chesapeake Regional Medical Center furthers ICA’s expansion throughout the southeast region and gives us another important customer in the growing IDN marketplace,” said Gary Zegiestowsky, chief executive officer of ICA. “Chesapeake’s initial foray into connecting and exchanging laboratory and radiology data is a critical first step to establishing effective data exchange throughout this metropolitan region.”

About the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is anchored by Chesapeake General Hospital, a 310-bed acute care hospital in Chesapeake, Va. The area’s largest non-government employer, it is also the only independent, community-based acute care hospital in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Chesapeake Regional and its affiliates have served the residents of southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina since 1976. The organization is governed by the Chesapeake Hospital Authority, made up of 11 members appointed to terms by the Chesapeake City Council and charged with ensuring that community needs are addressed at the hospital.

ICA continues mission of transformation through assisting community efforts

to change the lives of its citizens

MINNEAPOLIS, MN / NASHVILLE, TN – March 30, 2012 – Informatics Corporation of America (ICA, www.icainformatics.com) and 360 Communities (www.360communities.org) announced today that a charitable donation of $2,000 was made in the name of Rebecca Swain-Eng, Senior Manager, Measurement & Implementation, the American Academy of Neurology, to continue 360 Communities’ mission of transforming lives within the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

During the annual HIMSS 2012 education and exhibition for health information technology professionals, Feb. 20-24, 2012, at the Venetian Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, ICA made the donation through a drawing in which the winner chose a charity whose mission was in keeping with the company’s pursuit of transforming the lives of citizens within its community. Swain-Eng, the winner of the drawing, lives in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul region and selected 360 Communities as the donation recipient.

360 Communities was founded in 1970 when a group of volunteers got together and pooled their resources in order to affect change in their community. Today, 360 Communities has a network of five food shelves in Dakota County. Not only do 360 Communities’ staff and volunteers provide immediate food assistance, but they also engage individuals and families to understand any underlying problems. Then they connect them with resources to help them on their journey to self-sustained success. 360 Communities also partners with other organizations, including the Minneapolis and St. Paul United Way and Minnesota FoodShare.

One of 360 Communities’ partners, Minnesota FoodShare, is concluding its March Campaign to bolster food shelves across the state. Each March, Minnesota FoodShare directs the Campaign, the largest food drive in the state and restocks 300 food shelves across Minnesota. It recruits thousands of congregations, companies, schools and community groups to run local fund and food drives to aid in the effort. In addition, Minnesota FoodShare organizes a statewide media campaign to promote food shelf donations. It acts as a clearinghouse for cash donations and distributes the funds to participating Minnesota food shelves. Throughout the year, Minnesota FoodShare advocates on behalf of hungry Minnesota families with both state and federal lawmakers and educates the public about hunger in Minnesota.

“Without the help of corporate donations and the generosity of individual citizen’s time and treasure, 360 Communities would not be able to continue to sustain and grow the services required by a growing number of those in need,” said Laurie Rieb, Director of Development at 360 Communities. “Receiving a donation from ICA, whose mission incorporates the same transformative message 360 Communities supports, is especially appreciated.”

John Tempesco, chief marketing officer, ICA, says, “ICA provides a technology infrastructure to exchange healthcare information between hospitals, physicians and ancillary providers throughout a healthcare system, community or state, with added clinical depth that allows for the transformation of healthcare as an end-result. Our mission is to not simply bring technology to our clients, but to help them transform healthcare delivery so that outcomes and health status improve”

About 360 Communities
Originally founded by a group of dedicated volunteers 40 years ago, 360 Communities is an organization that uses community engagement to positively shape the future of our communities. It employs data-driven research to identify trends, strengths and vulnerabilities, and then work with key community partners to build and implement action plans. At the same time, it offers an interconnected web of opportunities that develop individual and community strength. Doing this work in partnership with caring residents creates ongoing change for the better, which leads to a healthier future for everyone.

– CareAlign® Solution Now Offered in Five Volume Set that Helps Address Meaningful Use As well as the Needs of Comprehensive Patient Care –

Las Vegas, NV – February 21, 2012 –ICA (www.icainformatics.com) announced today at HIMSS that it has launched a new solution suite based on the CareAlign® platform. The suite, or volume set, includes CareAlign CareExchange, CareConnect, CareCollaborate, CareMeasure and CareManage. Each volume provides a hospital, integrated delivery network (IDN), region or state the technology necessary to progressively exchange clinical information, increase care collaboration and manage healthcare risk across the continuum of care with the goal of improving patient outcomes while reducing costs.

Gary Zegiestowsky, ICA chief executive officer said, “Our CareAlign volumes set is a natural evolution of the CareAlign solution we have provided to the market for over five years. This new approach will allow providers to use health information exchange capabilities to meet near-term care coordination needs while building towards long-term patient-centered care solutions. Now, ICA will be able to provide its customers with the components of exchange they need in the short term, as well as a more global HIE solution that will help them connect, communicate, manage and successfully integrate with their currently installed legacy systems to provide better, more efficient care to a large patient population. This configuration now allows clients to select the tools that they need while also enabling them to grow with additional components over time. This approach aligns value realized with the cost incurred which is a critical driver to sustainability.”

“CareAlign’s CareConnect product has enabled the Kansas Health Information Network (KHIN) to yield quick results that far exceeded our expectations,” noted Laura McCrary, chief executive officer of KHIN. “Our original goal was to have 50 physicians using the system by the end of 2011 – we already have over 1,000 users communicating across the healthcare communities within Kansas. Ease of implementation, low cost and rapid deployment put us on the road to sustainability early in the process,” she added.

The new CareAlign solution suite includes the following volumes:

CareAlign CareExchange
The CareAlign CareExchange platform combines two key interoperability frameworks in a single platform. The first framework is based on Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) standards. This capability aggregates patient information across standard and non-standard sources and allows EHR’s and other clinical systems to request and securely receive available patient information in standard continuity of care document (CCD) format. The second framework includes NwHIN Direct and corresponding provider directory services. This framework allows providers and patients to securely share clinical information across a wide variety of systems. In CareExchange, these frameworks are designed to work together to solve a wide-variety of near-term and long-term interoperability challenges all from a single platform.

CareAlign CareConnect
CareConnect allows providers to securely collaborate with other providers and patients in a clinically relevant, non-intrusive manner across a wide variety of care settings. This cost-effective volume can be implemented and adopted quickly providing a positive return on investment in a short timeframe. This comprehensive communication capability incorporates the NwHIN Direct protocol and allows providers to effectively coordinate care with all other constituents involved in a patient’s care. Additionally, CareConnect also supports the inclusion of clinically relevant patient information needed to support the care coordination process including patient summaries, visit histories and discharge summaries. CareConnect is a proven, patient-centered communication solution enabling secure conversations essential for enhanced patient safety and better clinical outcomes.

CareAlign CareCollaborate
CareCollaborate is a feature-rich and comprehensive solution supporting interoperability via both standards-based and non-standards-based information exchange. The exchanged data is used within multiple clinically relevant workflow tools to enhance the physician-patient experience at the point of care. It allows clinicians to access exchanged data directly through their EHR. Or, they can log into our clinical portal for real-time access to patient health information from any secure internet connection. Through the CareCollaborate portal, clinical tools and workflow functionalities are at the physician’s fingertips, including a longitudinal patient record, consolidated lab and diagnostics views, radiology images, peer-to-peer secure clinical communications, patient panels, critical values alerts, flow sheets, and provider rounding lists – and all within an environment with comprehensive security and audit capabilities.

CareAlign CareMeasure
CareMeasure provides a reporting and analytics framework fully integrated into the health information exchange platform that can consume information being shared across the network in real-time to support broad scale reporting and bio-surveillance initiatives. This framework is capable of combining CCD-based content with other traditional sources (HL7 and claims) to provide a truly robust information source. Additionally, this volume includes built-in meaningful use reports, ad-hoc query capabilities and clinical dashboards that provide users with tangible value right out of the box. Also, this framework is designed to work with third-party reporting and analytics tools so that providers, HIOs and other constituents can develop their own reporting and analytics capabilities.

CareAlign CareManage
Finally, CareManage addresses the needs of risk-bearing entities. Whether the healthcare organization is managing the risk of it own employee base, developing an ACO or participating in other bundled payment methodologies, this solution is essential to the care management process. This volume provides the tools necessary to identify patients, stratify patients and manage the care process across multiple providers and multiple organizations. A key aspect includes to ability to establish and manage a care plan tailored to a patients needs and coordinated across all of the providers that are involved in that patients care. This volume also includes a number of patient engagement capabilities designed to educate and involve the patient in the care process.

– Hospital Clients Grow 70%; Employee Base Doubles; Partnerships Formalized and Interoperability Forum Launched –

NASHVILLE, TN – February 20, 2012 –ICA (www.icainformatics.com) announced today that 2011 saw strong growth in hospitals and clinics under contract for its CareAlign® Solutions suite, as well as significant product upgrades among its current client base. In addition, ICA’s employee base again nearly doubled in 2011 to meet growing demand and critical partnerships were formalized. The company views this growth as validation of the CareAlign suite as one of the top interoperability and health information exchange (HIE) solutions on the market today.

User growth occurred nationally, but clusters of growth exploded in Kansas, Illinois, and throughout Tennessee due to rapidly expanding physician participation and new client wins. ICA also formalized partnerships with Emdeon to provide EMR-lite capabilities, and with Peak 10 which enables the deployment of the CareAlign solution in a rapidly deployable SaaS model within the healthcare market. And critical to the increased excitement around ICA’s CareAlign solution, as well as setting the stage for 2012, was the restructured solution suite into five modules or volumes which helps healthcare entities address immediate market needs with rapid implementation and near immediate return-on-investment.

Significant Client Additions
ICA signed Central Illinois Health Information Exchange (CIHIE), which private labeled the solution Allcharts, and which serves over 1.3 million people in 20 counties in the Peoria, Bloomington, Champaign, and Decatur areas of Illinois. Allcharts includes 27 hospitals, 20 health departments, 2,800 physicians, 280 pharmacies, 12 labs and imaging centers and numerous ancillary healthcare providers such as rehabilitation centers, behavioral healthcare, long-term facilities and nursing homes.

ICA also signed, through its partner ACS, the state of Iowa and its 174 hospitals to develop a health information exchange to cover the entire state. Iowa e-Health, a collaboration of hospitals, consumers, healthcare providers, payers and others, created by Iowa’s Department of Public Health, will work with ICA and ACS to implement the Iowa Health Information Network (IHIN). The system will allow the patient and those who participate, such as hospitals, healthcare providers and payers including Iowa Medicaid, to safely and securely access vital patient health information records.

Interoperability Forum Launched
ICA also launched ICAetc, its free and open forum for vendors, to test interoperability with the goal of ensuring that multiple disparate systems are able to connect and communicate. ICAetc was created to help foster the adoption of IHE protocols by providing a free XDS infrastructure that is readily available to vendors for testing XDS.b and CCD compatibility. Current participants include Allscripts, Askesis Development Group, AthenaHealth, CPSI, eClinicalWorks, eMDs, Meditech, NextGen, Orion Health and Sage Healthcare Division.

Clients Upgrade and Expand CareAlign Solution Use
In addition, two current and long-time ICA clients upgraded and expanded their CareAlign offerings. Meridian Health in New Jersey upgraded to CareAlign 3.0 which gave it more robust features to enable the flow of continuity of care documents (CCD) both in and out of the HIE. And Middle Tennessee Health Connect expanded its HIE region to include Memorial Health Care System, Erlanger Health System and Parkridge Medical Center all in Chattanooga, TN. These client upgrades and expansions serve as further testimony to CareAlign’s effectiveness in the marketplace.

“In a year when the focus of the market was on EMRs due to the requirements of Meaningful Use, ICA had a year full of achievements,” said Gary Zegiestowsky, CEO of ICA. “We brought on new clients, launched an important forum for the industry to test interoperability requirements, and streamlined our product offering to better address our clients’ needs as they rollout health information exchanges in a variety of settings. In addition, we saw KHIN, our state of Kansas client, enroll over one thousand physicians in just six months to participate in its growing and very successful HIE. In addition to all of this we are well set up for 2012 with a more discreet product offering that aligns closely with clients’ market needs. Along with the validation provided by last year’s milestones, ICA enters 2012 with a full pipeline of client prospects, a solid partner base and highly organized and efficient technology development, client services and marketing capabilities. We are looking forward to further success in the coming year.”

between Electronic Health Records and Health Information Exchanges –

NEW YORK, NY / NASHVILLE, TN – January 17, 2012 –ICA (www.icainformatics.com) announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) (www.nyehealth.org) to join a public-private multi-state working group comprised of Electronic Health Record (EHR) vendors, Health Information Exchange (HIE) vendors and states. The group recognizes the value and need of having common standards, and is committed to develop the technical specifications to enable “plug and play” connectivity between EHRs and HIEs.

Originally led by New York, the expanded workgroup now includes federally designated counterparts in California, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Oregon all representing approximately 30% of the U.S. population. The collaboration leverages existing published standards for interoperability from the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC). HIE vendors working with the group are market leaders with significant market share nationally. The goal of this effort is to establish a single set of easily implementable standards that will enable connection and adoption of EHRs and HIEs.

Participants in the workgroup have agreed to develop strategies, requirements, standards and certification criteria to connect EHRs to HIEs to enable the broad adoption of health information among providers. The goal will be the fully operational connection between EHRs and state, regional and integrated delivery network (IDN) HIEs. Other participating vendors include Allscripts, Axolotl, eClinicalWorks, e-MDs, Greenway Medical Technologies, Intersystems, McKesson Physician Practice Solutions, Medicity, NextGen Healthcare, Sage Healthcare Division, and Siemens Healthcare.

“This collaboration is a crucial step towards solving interoperability problems, and we are very happy to have ICA on board,” said David Whitlinger, Executive Director of NYeC. “Collectively, this group is now looking forward to widespread adoption and market preference for the products that employ the specifications it has created and will create.”

“ICA is excited and honored to be participating in this national collaborative workgroup,” said Gary Zegiestowsky, chief executive officer of ICA. “ICA’s growth in the last several years has solidified our reputation as a national player in the HIE market and we can now bring to bear the experience we’ve gained to help make a palpable difference in expanding the use of EHRs through exchanging health information. ICA’s role will be significant and include active participation in all meetings and decision making as they regard to standards development, working collaboratively with all workgroup members and participating in all interoperability testing, among other activities.”

About The New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC)
The New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) is a not-for-profit organization, working to improve healthcare for all New Yorkers through health information technology (health IT). Founded in 2006 by healthcare leaders, NYeC receives funding from state and federal grants to serve as the focal point for health IT in the State of New York. NYeC works to develop policies and standards, to assist healthcare providers in making the shift to electronic health records, and to coordinate the creation of a network to connect healthcare providers statewide. The goal of NYeC is that no patient, wherever they may need treatment within the State of New York, is ever without fast, secure, accurate, and accessible information. Visit www.nyehealth.org.
